Although it's only Wednesday, we are really looking forward to this weekend. We have an extra day off, an extra hour, and Friday is Global Champagne Day!! Yes, our favourite style of wine has its own Global celebration day, and we believe this is a celebration that should not be missed.

We also welcomed some new arrivals from Champagne Bollinger, and there's one in particular that we are really struggling to contain our excitement over. Commemorating 60 years since the iconic film Goldfinger premiered and limited to just 200 handcrafted pieces available, this exquisite collector's item is a true testament to the legacy of both James Bond and Bollinger. Needless to say, it's going on our "Santa" list.  This is a very limited edition to commemorate 60 years since the cinematic release of Goldfinger in 1964. To mark this milestone, Champagne Bollinger is proud to unveil a limited edition Goldfinger branded magnum of 2007 vintage, as part of Champagne Bollinger’s long-running association with the 007 film franchise. This limited-edition release features a Goldfinger-branded magnum of 2007 vintage Bollinger champagne, elegantly presented in a bespoke Globe-Trotter Air Cabin Case. Each magnum is secured in the case with a precise cut-out to protect the bottle and glasses in transit, which can then be removed to carry style and elegance with you wherever you travel. There are only 200 available worldwide.

Pinot Noir is one of the key pillars of the Bollinger style, and the Maison has built its reputation by showcasing this variety. The PN cuvée is the result of research into the different styles of Pinot Noir and its different origins in Champagne. PN is a continuation of the Maison’s heritage and an affirmation of the legendary Bollinger style while also reinventing itself year after year. In this way, each new edition offers a new interpretation of Maison Bollinger’s vineyards and savoir-faire.

La Grande Année from an exceptional year, showcased through Bollinger savoir-faire. Connoisseurs will recognise the texture of this wine, yet they might be surprised to discover what makes 2015 so special. La Grande Année exhibits sensory and emotional qualities that echo the theme of the forest and the woodland realm, a realm which imparted structure and precision to the cuvées during the time it spent maturing in oak casks.

The story behind R.D. is that the majority of Champagne Houses have always kept a collection of old wines to share with their family, close friends and special guests. The custom was that these old wines were especially disgorged only a very short time before being tasted so that those invited could share a perfect moment when the wine, disgorged just recently, would offer an extraordinary freshness and sumptuous aromatic expression. This is the boldness of both R.D. and Madame Bollinger, who, realising the greatness of these wines, was the first to want to commercialise them in order to offer the entire world the chance to experience this tasting moment, considered at the time as "the ultimate in French Champagne". At Bollinger, this exceptional cuvée would be called R.D. for "Recently Disgorged", and its labels would be the first in history to bear a disgorgement date. Today, Bollinger R.D. 2008 is lively and exceptionally complex, taking us on a journey outside time. Hazelnuts, with all their freshness and generosity, are the perfect ingredient to echo a wine of such splendour.
