One Of Provence's Most Exceptional Rosés

One Of Provence's Most Exceptional Rosés

Savour The End Of Summer Evenings

Now that the sun has made a comeback we have the perfect excuse to sip Rosé again, but we don't mean any Rosé; we mean one of Provence's most exceptional Rosé wines. On a wine investment trip to Bordeaux back in April, Paul discovered an "outstanding Château La Mascaronne Rosé" and he just knew it was going to be special. Although the wait has been long, it has been worth it, and we're ecstatic to announce that our new Rosé has landed just in time for our heatwave!!

Château La Mascaronne is unique and breathtakingly beautiful; it has been cherished by years of attention and passion from its dedicated men and women. They have used sustainable farming methods since 1999, the entire vineyard has been certified Agriculture Biologique since the 2016 vintage, and their approach to winegrowing implies a deep respect for the environment and terroir at all levels.

We were not the only ones impressed by this exquisite estate; convinced of its potential, Michel Reybier, the owner of Cos d’Estournel, the Jeeper Champagne house and the La Réserve hotels in Paris, Geneva and Zurich, purchased it in 2020.

More recently, it was announced that French-American basketball star Tony Parker, who holds four NBA championship titles, will be teaming up with Michel Reybier as a partner of Château La Mascaronne, so this wine really is going to be huge!! In their statement, they announced that “Our joint commitment will allow us to go even further in the wineries’ development, especially in international markets. The quality of our products, combined with Tony’s renowned reputation worldwide, will open up new perspectives for Château La Mascaronne".

The critics have also been generous with their praises, both Vinous and James Suckling have also awarded Château La Mascaronne rosé 2021 91 Points.

Chateau La Mascaronne Rosé reveals the essence of the terroir from which it is produced. An exceptional rosé, a work of art, it derives its quality not only from the grape varieties that comprise its blend but also from the soils on which the estate’s grapevines are planted. The Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah and Vermentino grapes, typical Provence varieties, are hand harvested at the height of ripeness.

When enjoyed young, Château La Mascaronne Rosé is delightful before or with a meal. But it is also marvellous after several years of ageing, which is a more unusual feature for a rosé wine. The wine’s luminous pink hue makes it immediately identifiable as a Provence wine and is like a foretaste of the luscious, complex aromas of fresh, ripe fruit that it delivers.
