Champagne Drappier Grande Sendree 2012

Grande Sendrée 2012 is the Cuvée de Prestige of DRAPPIER. This rare champagne offers us the most beautiful expression of a terroir and a great vintage. The Grande Sendrée cuvée takes its name from a parcel of land covered in cinders (cendrée) after the fire which ravaged Urvil le in 1838.

This is a wonderful champagne made only the great years ! Made from very old vines of a small plot (55% Pinot Noir and 45% Chardonnay), this prestigious champagne surprises by its great fineness and powerful aromas.

The nice bottle is a reproduction of a 13th century bottle discovered in the Urville cellars.

After 10 years of handcraft, 2012 Grande Sendrée is mature but can still wait for many years. The pinot noir is still dominant with its Napoleon cherry notes. Chardonnay is also very present on the palate with its fresh vanilla and with flower notes. In mouth, it is stll very tonic whith sublte bitters while the low dosage leaves a tense and long finish with mineral and slightly spicy notes. A great Champagne for ageing

It's the ideal partner from the aperitif to the meal, with crayfish in a grapefruit sauce, a scallop carpaccio or even a poultry with truffles.
