Chardonnay
Love it or hate it, it's one of the most divisive but also versatile grape varieties. This high-quality white grape can produce a diverse array of wine styles. Its flavour profile ranges from citrus, green apple, and pear to peach and various tropical fruits, depending on the climate where the grapes are grown. Chardonnay wines can be either aged in oak barrels or not. It is widely cultivated and celebrated - there's even a song dedicated to it, a footballer's wife named after it, and recently,we've heard someone liken a full-bodied Chardonnay to the iconic Marilyn Monroe for its voluptuous and rounded characteristics.
International Chardonnay Day is celebrated annually on May 26th
Here at The Corkscrew, you'll find a range of Chardonnay wines, hailing from England to New Zealand. The styles vary from being dry and restrained, like the wines from the Chablis region in France, to rich and creamy, such as the Chardonnays produced in California.
