Lough Ree - The Bridge Whiskey Inny Bay 70cl

This 13 year old Single Grain with a slight pink tint is fruity, fresh, quite unusual and very moreish. Like all of The Bridge releases, this is a non chill-filtered whiskey with no added colour. It’s limited to 314 bottles and bottled at 46% ABV.
<,/br> This whiskey was first matured in a Bourbon cask for 9 years and 2 months, then Somontano wine cask for 15 ½ months before being moved back to first fill Bourbon cask for the remainder of its 13 year maturation. The Somontano cask is from a small family-run producer called el Grillo y la Luna in Barbastro, in the foothills of the Pyrenees in Northern Spain.

TASTING NOTES

Nose: Opening with some vanilla and leaf tobacco, moving into intense strawberry and cherry aromas.
Taste: Juicy, fruity minerality, with lots of fresh strawberries, a hint of chocolate, and some fresh mint.
Finish: Dry, quite spicy with more red fruit and cracked black pepper.
