Malbec
Originating from Cahors, Malbec has become the predominant red grape variety in Argentina and is known for producing exceptional wines in various countries. It's lush ripe fruit, distinct spiciness and velvety texture make this elegant, versatile, incredibly diverse grape varietal hugely appealing. While most would suggest pairing it with red meats, it’s versatile enough to stand up to spicy Indian, Mexican or Thai food, and a medium-bodied Malbec will transform the taste of chocolate.
Malbec World Day is celebrated annually on April 17th
Here on our shelves at The Corkscrew you'll find a selection of Malbec wine from Cahors, Argentina and South Africa but also a white malbec wine and an exceptional aged Malbec from La Mancha in Southern Spain.
