Vegan Wine
In recent years, there has been a rise in Vegan and Vegetarian diets. Many are embracing Meatless Mondays, leading to a surge in demand for vegan and vegetarian wines. Surprisingly, not all wines are vegan or vegetarian-friendly due to the fining process. After fermentation, wines may contain animal by-products like egg whites or gelatin. Some winemakers use alternative agents like Betonite or vegetable protein to maintain vegan status. Certified Vegan wines display the certification on their label, while others may be labeled as Vegan Friendly but can vary between vintages. If you want your wine to be Vegan friendly, here at The Corkscrew we have over 150 to choose from, including some of our favourites.
