How sweet!! Paolo Cottini Scriba IGT is a dessert wine made using a blend of Corvina 50%, Corvinone 30%, Rondinella 10%, Rebo 10%. They have recently started to produce it instead of the traditional Recioto della Valpolicella and we think it's far better!! At the moment the production is limited and the market it's mostly local. The name Scriba refers to the heritage of winemaking that moves from generation to generation in the Cottini family.
Intense ruby red wine. On the nose an impressive explosion of evolved red fruits. In the mouth the body and harmony are surprising for how sweetness is never too much, thanks to an elegant and fresh acid note that gives drinkability and great length. It can be combined with all dry pastries and blue cheeses.

Product Description

Paolo Cottini” is the brand name by which Paolo and Sara wish to engage their personal identity to the wines they produce. The winery is a new “wine reality” but Paolo Cottini’ family has long been linked to this passion; this is in fact the third generation involved with Silvano, Paolo’s father, teaching his son the art of producing quality wine. The winery is located in the heart of Valpolicella, precisely in Castelrotto, a small medieval village in the municipality of San Pietro in Cariano, located at the top of a hill. The castle, which gives the name to the village, has been destroyed but its walls, remained at the highest point of the hill, are still the symbol of royal dignity and testimony of its military function. The vineyards are located in two areas of the historic Valpolicella, in Negrar valley, precisely in Ca 'del Gallo, at an altitude of about 580 mt. facing south-west, and Valgatara area, at an altitude of about 250 mt. facing south-east. This decisive differentiation in topography and altitude conditions lead to quality grapes with distinctive and unique characters which, combined in various proportions, give life to their wines.
