Great Gift Ideas

It's been a mad few days here at The Corkscrew HQ, we're flying around between 3 buildings trying to get ready to open the new shop; we will have more on the developments soon. We have also been a staff member down as Luis has not been well; we're wishing him a super speedy recovery. This also meant we had to reschedule last night's Sauvignon Showdown. It will now take place on June 26th.

We are also delighted to let you know that The Corkscrew Blog featured 3rd in Feedspot Top 20 Irish Wine Blogs, the list can be seen here.

We can also tell you that over 20 of your and our favourite wines are now back in stock, so if someone will be buying you something this Sunday it might be time to start dropping a hint. If you have to buy for a Father figure in your life, we've made it easy and put together a small selection of our top gift ideas and our wishlist.

Finally, don't forget that when you order 12 bottles of wine or more, you automatically receive 10% off at the checkout. This excludes already discounted bottles and those subject to no further discount. We also offer free Nationwide delivery on all orders over €150.

Champagne Drappier Carte d'Or Brut NV - Magnum- Buy Here €139.95

Restock & subtle hint ... Magnums are great for parties, adding a bit of theatre to the dinner table, and they certainly offer the "novelty gift" factor; a magnum of Champagne though, is seriously impressive. This cuvée is the very expression of the Drappier style. With a very high proportion of Pinot Noir, one is savouring what is nearly a Blanc de Noirs. A Champagne of great aromatic richness and complexity. The taste begins with stone fruits such as white peaches and quince jelly. A spicy note emerges in a powerful and complex mouthfeel.

Cornelio Dinastia Barrel-Fermented Viura - Buy Here

€32.95

A white wine for the red wine lover. Viura is the main white grape grown in Rioja and is prized for producing fruity wines with floral aromas and remarkable acidity, making it ideal for both young and aged whites. This multi-award-winning, smooth, voluptuous wine has fine aromas, with a complex and sweeping palate and is a firm favourite among us.

Clos de Lôm Monastrell Rosé 2022 - Buy Here

€24.95

Everybody is drinking pink these days, this, amazing, stunning Rosé shows a pale pink colour with pink and goldish hints. The intense nose is complex with the aromatic explosion of ripe pineapple zest, grapefruit, blood orange and red apples. Its flavour is wide, highly fruity, fresh and with lively acidity, leaving an intense and long refreshing taste in the mouth. Perfect as an aperitif but also great with tapas and Summer salads.

Thörle, Spätburgunder Trocken, Rheinhessen, Germany 2020 - Buy Here

€24.95

Good value Pinots are hard to find, but this entry-level wine from Thörle is exceptional. JamesSuckling.com gave it 93 points and describes it as "What a stunning nose of forest berries, black cherries, fresh mint, tarragon and smoke. Stunning concentration, fleshiness and freshness for this humble category. Excellent length too. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold." We couldn't have said it better ourselves. This is a class Pinot Noir.
